We know KK for his evergreen Bollywood songs like “Zara Sa” from “Jannat”, “Labon Ko” from “Bhool Bhulaiyaa”, “Dil Ibadat” from “Tum Mile” and so on. All fans love him for his classic voice which is still glowing. It is very hard to find any Bengali Music sung by KK. Music composer Jeet Ganguly and KK was very good friend. KK sang “ Akasher Nile” song in the Bengali film “Faande Poriya Boga Kaande Re” under Jeet Ganguly’s composition.
Recently Jeet Ganguly recalls mournfully, “An artiste, a friend like KK is impossible to find. He has been gone for a year. But I have not felt that he is not with me for even a minute. His songs play in my head and on my headphone constantly.”
Jeet added more about KK, “His pictures are everywhere in our home and on the yet. You open your phone and KK is everywhere. In death, he lives in the public mind much more than he did in life. My personal moments with him captured in photographs take me back to the wonderful times we shared together.” “KK will live forever,” says Jeet Ganguly on his death anniversary. Arijit Singh also worked with Jeet Ganguly on many songs.
Jeet Ganguly’s most of compositions are in the Bengali Music industry. But he started his music journey in 2002 through Yash Raj Films, and the film was “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai”. Although Yash Raj Films signed Pritam Chakraborty and Jeet Gangullly for this film and both are one of the best music composers in Bollywood now. Some of his famous music are, “Milne Hai Mujhse Aayi” “Aasan Nahin Yahan” “Chahun Main Ya Naa“ and “Hum Mar Jayenge” from “Aashiqui 2”, “Muskurane” from “CityLights”, “Chaahat” from “Blood Money”, “Khamoshiyan” from “Khamoshiyan”, “Lo Maan Liya” from “Raaz: Reboot”, “Hamari Adhuri Kahani” from “Hamari Adhuri Kahani” and so on.
Jeet also regrates and said, “It feels like he is still here. I am like, ‘Parson toh hai usska recording. Let me just call him.’ I feel KK will come. He will come to the studio, hug me and say, ‘Batta kya gaana hai? Let’s do it’. It doesn’t feel like he has been gone for a year.”
“KK will live forever,” says Jeet Ganguly on his death anniversary. With this painful interview, he also adds, “Let me tell you honestly, an artiste like KK never dies. His work will live forever. As long as music is alive, he will live through his songs. If art lives, KK too will live. Let his song play. I feel he is with me.”
Another composer Lalit added, “And now it’s too late. I remember my brother Jatin and I did one song with him for a film called Dhai Akshar Prem Ke. He undoubtedly was a gifted singer with a very good voice texture and he had an open-throw voice as a singer.”
